Konecny speaks at intermission after setting career high in goals

The Philadelphia Flyers played the New York Rangers on Thursday night and during the 2nd period, Travis Konecny scored his 32nd goal of the season, and set a career high in goals. After the period, Travis Konecny was interviewed and spoke on the game at that point.

Travis Konecny was originally asked about his goal and stated how hard the guys worked to get up on the ice and how Ryan Poehling made a great pass and fooled him on the play. He thought, he was going to directly passed the puck to him but instead went through the slot, which seemed to fool everyone. Then, Travis Konecny stated "This group has been trying so hard all year. We're just trying to have fun tonight, realize the position we're in, embrace it and just enjoy the moment while we're here."

That seemed to really be the case tonight, the Flyers played very loose and obviously had their best game in the last couple weeks. The team playoff hopes are all but gone, for this reason, the Flyers really had nothing to lose, and they seemed to embrace that. If they can continue to play this well the last two games, then maybe by some miracle, they can sneak into the playoffs.
