Flyers Coach John Tortorella has recently stated some interesting strategic thoughts on upcoming games as Philadelphia has had some bad luck with player injuries lately. Just because Tortorella won't be behind the bench for the next two games due to his recent "controversial" actions, that doesn't mean he can't coach from afar, leaving fans with what he thinks should be the Flyer's future game plan.

John Tortorella: «A number of guys are hurt. No one talks about Risto, everybody hates Risto out here so they don't talk about him. He was a really good player for us.»

The list of Flyers' players who will be out due to injuries continues to grow, as Nick Seeler, Rasmus Ristolainen, and Jamie Drysdale will not be able to play for the team. This loss of defense puts the Flyers in an unusual state, and the team will have to come up with something in order to counter these losses. On top of these injuries, yet another defenseman won't be appearing on the ice for the Flyers after Sean Walker was traded during the deadline last week to Colorado.

Tortorella has stated that he doesn't want the team to walk on eggshells just to prevent any further injuries to the remaining healthy players. If anything, he believes the team will have to step up even more in order to out perform opposing teams offensively so that the lack of defense can be swept under the radar.

"We're not just gonna sit back and protect them," he insisted. "We're gonna do the best we can with the people we have and just try to find our way."

The Flyers are going to have to do something in regards to their unfortunate situation. Whether that is to play safe or go in guns blazing has yet to be seen, but their head coach seems to already have a strong belief in how they should approach upcoming games.
