With the off-season quickly approaching, John Tortorella stated that when the season is over decisions will have to be made quickly on who's in, and who's out, for the Flyers multi-year rebuild.

A multi-year rebuild will mean the Flyers may have to give up players who are aging in hopes to get youth, as a rebuild is a multi-year process. The Flyers may take a full head-on approach such as the Chicago Blackhawks, trading away everyone above 24-years of age including Alex DeBrincat, Patrick Kane, even a 21-year old former 4th overall pick Kirby Dach...

Elliotte Friedman, an NHL insider, recently speculated that the Philadelphia Flyers may make goaltender Carter Hart available for trade during the upcoming offseason as they begin to rebuild their team. This move could help them acquire future assets that would aid in their improvement. Teams such as the Los Angeles Kings, Buffalo Sabres, and Ottawa Senators are expected to pursue Hart.

Kevin Hayes, who was a highly-discussed trade candidate before the deadline, could potentially find a new team now that former GM Chuck Fletcher has been replaced. The Columbus Blue Jackets have expressed interest in the Massachusetts native, but salary retention would be necessary in any trade involving Hayes.

Although Ivan Provorov was considered a potential trade candidate before the deadline, the Flyers chose to keep him. However, they may entertain offers for the top-four defenseman during the offseason and receive a significant return due to his skills. Many teams would be interested in acquiring Provorov to bolster their defensive lineup.
