The Buffalo Sabres are gonna be without their leading scorer Tage Thompson as he left Wednesday's game against the Carolina Hurricanes game with an upper-body injury.

Head coach Don Granato didn't give an update on Thompson's status after their loss. Thompson would leave the second period of the game in what looked like a lot of discomfort. He would play 11:16 in the game before being injured, had two penalties and one block.

Thompson was supposed to play at the All-Star game in Florida on Saturday, but who knows how serious the injury is and if he will be able to attend.

**UPDATE**

Thompson will not be at the All-Star Game, and his teammate will be replacing him.

He currently leads the Sabres in points and is in 5th place in league scoring with 34 goals, and 34 assists, 64 points in 49 games. The Sabres are currently making a push for a playoff spot as they sit just one point out of a wild card spot. If Thompson is out long-term this may affect their chances at making the playoffs for the first time in 12 years.
