Canucks Player Pelted With Candy During Final Minutes of The Game

The Colorado Avalanche and New Jersey Devils fan groups both tossed things onto the ice last night, causing the game to be delayed for the last few minutes of the third period. It almost looks as though the two fan bases are somehow connected, as these were the first two incidents involving objects thrown on the ice surface in quite some time.

Watch the Carolina incident to see how upset the crowd was after three goals were called back due to poor officiating.

Strangely, no candy was tossed over the ice during the incident seen above, which also contained full beers that were busted open, soda drink bottles, and many other things. O ne Avalanche fan must have yelled "hold my beer" and thrown candy onto the ice, causing Elias Pettersson, the standout player for the Canucks, to be struck.

Yes, throwing candy at a player directly was a humiliating gesture, but the Avalanche roster benefited from it since it gave them some breathing room before going on the power play.
