The Flyers are looking for a new head coach. Recently, Barry Trotz - who should soon be interviewed by the team -, Rick Tocchet, Jim Montgomery, John Tortorella or Paul Maurice has all been mentioned a potential candidate to become the new leader behind the bench.

However, could a surprise candidate be in the race?

Yesterday, Rick Bowness left the Dallas Stars. He's free right now. Could he be an option for the Flyers? It certainly could be a great option. He did a fantastic job with the Stars - he went to the Stanley Cup Final in 2020 - and nearly beat the Flames in the first round of the playoffs this season.
