Team Canada continues their road to a hopeful gold medal at the 2022 World Junior Hockey Championships. After starting off 2-0 Team Canada host Team Czechia.

During the first period of tonight's game Team Czechia's
Jaroslav Chmelar would nail Canada's Brennan Othmann into the boards dangerously.

Chmelar received a 5-minute-major and a game misconduct for the hit. Just before the hit Othmann was throwing his weight around hitting every Czechia player in sight. Jaroslav Chmelar's lack of judgment got the better of him, and the officials deemed this retaliatory penalty and handed down the game misconduct.

Canada would make them pay just 5 seconds into the major penalty Ridly Greig would score and Canada has a 4-1 lead after 40 minutes.
