Flyers Backup Goalie Role Has 2 Competitors - Who Earns The Final Spot?

The backup goaltender role is just about to be decided and the news has been broken that goaltenders Keven Connauton and Troy Grossenick has both been placed on waivers, cutting the team roster down to 32 players.

The backup goalie battle is down to Samuel Ersson and Felix Sandstrom.

This leaves Felix Sandstrom and Samuel Ersson left as candidates for the role. Felix Sandstrom has been battling an injury while Ersson has shined in his time played. Saving 57 out of 60m shots faced and a .928% save percentage. Even with Sandstrom getting the only win of the preseason, Ersson still may have snagged the spot.

The decision has not been made as of yet but will come in the next coming days. Samuel Ersson will be the backup goalie in my opinion and rightfully so.
