The Flyers' goaltending situation has remained a question mark ever since Ron Hextall's departure. For some reason, the team has struggled to find a goaltender of his calibre, one who helped them maintain consistency on the ice.

However, over the past couple of years, the Flyers have entrusted Carter Hart as their starting goaltender, and he has not disappointed since being drafted in the second round, 48th overall, in 2016. Additionally, there are several other promising goaltenders currently in their system, each with their own unique skill sets.

One such prospect is Carson Bjarnason, an 18-year-old goaltender hailing from Carberry, Manitoba. Standing at six feet three inches and weighing 190 pounds, Bjarnason was selected in the 2023 entry draft, taken in the second round, 51st overall. He is currently a member of the Brandon Wheat Kings.

During a recent game, Bjarnason made a textbook save that helped maintain the Wheat Kings' lead, providing a significant confidence boost to his teammates.

With Samuel Ersson, Alexei Kolosov, and Bjarnason all in the system, the Flyers' goaltending ranks appear stronger than they have been in a long time. It seems they will not need to search for a goalie for quite some time.
