The second game of the preseason gets underway tonight for the Philadelphia Flyers. The orange and black get set to do battle against the Buffalo Sabres in New York. A few players will get their first crack at the game action. Guys such as JVR and Travis Konency. Both players who in my opinion, need it. JVR on a contract year and is set to hit free agency and TK looking to rejuvenate back to his old self.

Some things of notice in this bout they were much different from the first preseason game. Let's get into it.

Travis Konecny lights the lamp

After the Sabres get the opening goal of the game the Flyers get their own. Travis Konency storms down the right side of the boards passed a player of his own and skates in with a wrist shot past Buffalo goaltender. Late In the game, he creates a incredible pass to his line mate to generate a adoring chance. Konecny, who needs to get it going this season and make the most of every chance. Good game for TK.

Goalie's best friend

Whenever the puck gets by you and you hear that clank off the post, it's always a breath of fresh air. Quite a few times the Flyers got extremely lucky and maybe even some luck when some Sabres shots rang off the post. Shows that Buffalo was generating a lot of chances and just missed the net. Must tighten up the defense.

Power play not so powerful

Neither team took advantage of the opportunities given on the power play. Both teams went 0-3 on their chances. Power play strength is what separates good teams from average teams. Games will go in your favor much more when you have a good power play. That being said, the penalty kill for both teams was quite good. Buffalo maybe having the edge.
