Former NHL'er Rips Apart Sidney Crosby and The Pittsburgh Penguins

Spittin' Chiclets is one of the biggest sports podcasts in the world and is known for its hosts throwing shade at NHL teams and players on a routine basis. On the most recent episode, former NHL player Ryan Whitney roasted the Penguins in this short rant.

Whitney definitely has a point against the Penguins. There were lofty expectations in Pittsburgh this season, but the Penguins haven't lived up to the hype. The defense hasn't been great and they have been giving up goals left and right. A deep dive into the stats aren't showing the full picture.

Tristan Jarry has been out since January 25th and the backup goalie tandem hasn't helped the Penguins case. The team's last 10 games have resulted in a dismal 4-3-3 record, but they still have the second spot in the Eastern Conference Wild Card standings.



Jarry has an impressive 16-5-5 record on the season and sports a .921 save percentage which is well above league average. If Jarry can came back immediately after the break and regain the starters crease on a nightly basis, he may be able to help stop the bleeding in Pittsburgh.
