Hart feels confident about remaining with the Flyers for the foreseeable future

As the Flyers continue their rebuilding phase, both within their organization and on the ice, it's important to note that they possess great players to help solidify this rebuild and regain their status as an NHL playoff team.

One of their strengths lies in goaltending, with Flyers' starting goaltender Carter Hart being precisely the type of player the team needs to build around as they strive for year-by-year improvement. Hart has demonstrated to the Flyers' fan base and management that he is the backbone of the team.

If the Flyers can improve their defence core, they won't need to search for another goalie for many years.




Last year's statistics do not accurately reflect the quality of goaltender Hart, largely due to the Flyers' leaky defence. The 25-year-old netminder played 55 games, maintaining a record of 22-23-10, with a 2.94 goals-against average and a .907 save percentage. He also secured two shutouts.


These statistics might not be flattering, especially since Hart is entering a contract year. The pending restricted free agent has one year remaining with the Flyers, with a contract worth $3.979 million in cap space.

With Hart's strong belief in the rebuilding process, and with general manager Danny Briere at the helm of the team, along with Keith Jones as president, I believe the Flyers will retain him long-term and sign him to a five-year contract extension worth $5 million annually.
