Hockey coach hurts kid during drill - is it too much?

Various hockey coaches usually have a different approach to the game, but hockey parents are not too thrilled with one coach's way. It appears that a hockey coach's recent antics are trending on social media, but not for the right reasons at all.

It appears that the boy is around seven years old and is quite young while this one instructor gave him a hefty hard hit in the back after he missed a pylon during a practice.


There are those who claim in the comments section that "it was only a whack, people are soft," however there are also some who disagree with the coach's actions on various threads.  As most people are aware, the video was recorded in a Russian training facility where many things are done differently in that country.


Was that excessive, or is he only challenging his players to improve?
