Huge changes are coming in Dallas
Despite a hard-fought series against the Calgary Flames, the Dallas Stars were eliminated in 7 games. They can thank their goaltender Jake Oettinger as he was absolutely monstrous during the series.
However, there's now big changes that are coming for the Stars. The team announced earlier today that head coach Rick Bowness will not return behind the bench next year. In addition, assistant coaches John Stevens, Derek Laxdal and Todd Nelson will not return next season. It means that there will be a brand new staff next campaign."After careful consideration with my wife Judy, we feel it's best to step away and allow the organization the opportunity to pursue a different direction at the head coaching position," said Bowness.
During his time as a head coach, the Stars went to the Stanley Cup Final in 2020, but lost in 6 games against the Tampa Bay Lightning.
Will they be in the Barry Trotz derby? It's very possible...
