NHL Insider Believes He Knows Who The Canadiens Will Name Captain This Season

The Montreal Canadiens had a terrible season especially without one of the most important players on the team Shea Weber.

Weber was the Canadiens last captain of the winningest franchise in NHL history and now after the worst season in franchise history the Canadiens pick them selfs back up and hope to rebuild.

When it comes to deciding who the new captain will be the top three names that have been coming up are Brendan Gallagher, Joel Edmondson and Nick Suzuki.

However, On TSN690 this Thursday, Hockey InsiderDavid Pagnotta said he would be surprised if the next captain of the club was not Brendan Gallagher.



Pagnotta choices Gallagher because he's been named "the heart and soul of the Montreal Canadiens." But others believe including myself Nick Suzuki will be named our new captain.


One thing I'm not sure if everyone noticed at the 2022 NHL entry draft the Montreal Canadiens had Nick Suzuki on stage along with Canadiens management when they drafted Juraj Slafkovsky first overall at the draft making many believe Suzuki will be named the Canadiens new captain.
