NHL Insider Drops a Bombshell on a Morgan Frost Trade in Philadelphia

With the Flyers hovering around .500 in the standings and the team continuing to evaluate its talent, it's expected that General Manager Danny Briere will begin moving more players from the roster to recuperate assets and draft picks.

This is all part and parcel of being a rebuilding franchise, and the Flyers have several players who could be beneficial for another organization later this year.

It appears that Morgan Frost has been garnering attention across the league after being a healthy scratch for several games. Frank Seravalli of dailyfaceoff.com reports that calls on Frost are intensifying.




Frost, who was drafted in 2017 by the Flyers in the first round, 27th overall, stands at six feet, 193 pounds, and is currently 24 years old. After having a modest season with the Flyers last year, playing 81 games, scoring 19 goals and 27 assists for 46 points with 24 penalty minutes, he secured himself a new contract, a two-year extension worth $4.2 million this past summer.


He has played only nine games and has scored two goals and two assists for four points but is a +5. At $2.1 million in cap space, he certainly would be an attractive player to some teams looking to add depth to their lineup.


Since returning to the lineup on November 10th against the Anaheim Ducks, Frost has accumulated 4 points in three games, which includes scoring his first two goals of the season.

It remains to be seen what the Flyers will do with him, but in the meantime, it appears that Head Coach John Tortorella has decided to reinstate him to the lineup, giving him a second chance to redeem himself.
