NHL Player Gets Emotional When Told His Fate With the Team

At this time of year in the NHL, many players face the reality of making the team or not making the team.

One such player is Cody Glass. After playing just 66 games with the Vegas Golden Knights, he was traded in July of last year for Nolan Patrick.

He was the Golden Knights sixth-overall pick in the 2017 draft. Much was expected of him and it puts a lot of pressure on a young (23 year-old) player.

He has really never blossomed into the player selected as high as he was. In 74 NHL games, he has only nine goals, 14 assists to his credit.

Now while in the AHL playing for the Milwaukee Admirals, he did much better. He had 14 goals, 48 assists in 66 games. So, when the Preds GM, David Poile called Glass into his office, it was a nerve-racking experience.

Poile knows that Glass has worked really hard to make the team and show them what he can do. For him to get emotional just shows what most NHL players on the bubble go through.

Let's see what Glass can do this upcoming season and whether he can take advantage of the opportunity afforded him.

Hockey players are people too, and have emotions just like all of us. Glass has the motivation now to show the league, his coaches, and teammates that it wasn't a fluke drafting him as high as sixth.
