The first NHL suspension of the year has been handed out

With the offseason over and NHL training camps moving towards preseason action, the physical play has begun.

Unfortunately for Seattle Kraken prospect Jacob Melanson, his actions were a bit too much, which warranted disciplinary action.

Melanson threw a dirty hit during preseason action.




The decision was made the following day by NHL player safety.


You have to love the physical play, but this play seems needless.
