Torts reveal that Frost is not a top-six forward.

The career of Morgan Frost, the Flyers' center who was just awarded a new contract worth $4.2 million over two seasons, can be summed up in one word: improvement. The 24-year-old center has worked hard on his game over the past few years as he has tried to break into the lineup and become a regular with the Flyers year after year.

It appears that he achieved that last season when he played 81 games. He scored nineteen goals with 27 assists for 46 points and had 24 penalty minutes, along with three game-winning goals.


Head coach John Tortorella used Frost quite often in different situations as he moved up and down the lineup, given the Flyers' thin offence and position at center.


Now that training camp is underway, Tortorella explained in the media scrum where he feels Frost currently stands and that he needs to continue to improve his game this season.

Frost has spent his last four seasons with the Flyers organization, during which he has become a regular for two of them. Throughout his career, he has played 158 games, scoring 26 goals with 43 assists for 69 points and maintaining a -26 rating.

If Torts believes that he needs to continue progressing, it's expected that his average ice time will rise to over 15 minutes.
