Over a year has passed since Hockey Canada was rocked by the WJC 2018 Scandal.

Rick Westhead, a TSN reporter and muckraker, discovered serious allegations against eight Hockey Canada team members, including members of the 2018 Gold Medal team.

3.5 million would be paid to the victim to shield the players' names from public scrutiny. In an attempt to save face, the organization would engage in a PR campaign without any action. The scandal would reach far and wide, as executives resigned in disgrace.

In a report released today, Westhead reported that any players on the Hockey Canada roster for the 2018 World Junior Championship will be temporarily suspended until the investigation is complete.


Therefore, Robert Thomas, Cale Makar, Jordan Kyrou, Carter Hart, Dillon Dube, and Dante Fabbro will not be eligible to play for Hockey Canada during the upcoming World Hockey Championships.


The investigation may extend beyond that, as the organization appears to be taking its time to resolve the matter, as the resolution doesn't seem to be rushed.

Most of the players on the WJC 2018 roster have posted statements on social media claiming innocence.

Alex Formenton, Sam Steel, Max Comtois, Tyler Steenburgen, Drake Batherson, Michael McLeod, Boris Katchouk, and Brett Howden, however, did not comment on the investigation. Their silence does not imply guilt, but other teammates have come forward to say they aren't guilty.

While we have been waiting for quite some time for the results, it remains to be seen when a resolution will be reached.
