Former NHL player Chris Simon has passed away earlier today.

Simon was drafted by the Philadelphia Flyers in the 2nd round, however never played for the Flyers as he was immediately traded to the Quebec Nordiques along with others in part of the famous Eric Lindros deal.

Chris Simon played in 3 Stanley Cup finals with the Washington Capitals, Calgary Flames and Colorado Avalanche, winning the Stanley Cup with the Avalanche in 1996.

Simon was known as an enforcer as he's been in over 100 career fights. Our hearts go out to his family in this difficult time.
