Earlier today, the Philadelphia Flyers announced that they signed prospect Adam Ginning to a two-year entry-level contract.

I'll be pretty honest with you : I have never seen him play. But when I looked at his stats in Sweden, one thing surprised me: his production declined between this year and last year.

According to some specialists that saw him play, we shouldn't be that excited with this signature.

"Congrats to Adam Ginning on @NHLFlyers ELC... hopefully he can turn into an NHL player. But if I am honest? Hes been a 3rd pairing level guy in the SHL+is already 22. If he was not a 2nd round pick and instead a 5th I doubt he would have been signed given progression," wrote Alexander Appleyard. "Has solid physical tools, above average skater for size and okay hands. But just a bad gap even on bigger ice, sometimes struggles in small areas with losing man, and just gets out of position too much," he continued.
