Now, that the trade deadline has passed, we can look back and see how the Flyers fared. Heading towards the deadline, the Flyers general manager Danny Brière made it clear that the Flyers will not be buying at the deadline no matter where they were in the standings. However, what was unclear, was how much they would sell. The Top player on their roster that was traded was Sean Walker in which they got a 1st-round pick in return.
They literally got a first round pick for Sean Walker when the Penguins didn't even get one for Jake Guentzel. Good god man
There's no doubt the #Flyers front office let the current standings dictate their trade deadline.
I'll be cheering them heavily during this playoff push, but it's the exact opposite of what they preached

The Flyers also obtained a 2024 5th-round draft pick from the Golden Knights for essentially retaining 25 percent of Noah Hanifin salary. The Flyers then traded a fourth-round pick in 2024 for Buffalo Sabres defenseman Erik Johnson, seemingly to replace Sean Walker and to add depth as the Flyers have multiple defensemen on injured reserve. Erik Johnson who won a Stanley Cup in 2022 with the Colorado Avalanche, will also provide a veteran presence. The Flyers also traded Wade Allison for Denis Gurianov from the Predators. Prior to the trade deadline, many would have most likely been disappointed to trade Sean Walker, however even Danny Brière was not expecting to receive a 1st-round pick in return for Sean Walker, especially since he is a pending free agent this summer and was most likely not returning to the team. Which is why many are considering this trade a win for the Flyers. Overall, the Flyers added draft picks for the future and depth for this year potential playoff run.
