In 2022-2023, Elliot Desnoyers played four games with the Philadelphia Flyers after being recalled from Lehigh Valley.

He would then return to the AHL and play 65 games with the Phantoms to finish out the season.

Lappy: "The closest kid (to the NHL) in terms of detail-wise is Desnoyers."

"And that's not because he's French," he cracked.

In 65 games, the young center scored 44 points and earned the praise of his coach, Ian Lapierre. According to Charlie O'Connor of PHLY_Sports, Desnoyers is highly regarded by Lapierre.

Elliot Desnoyers, he joked to the press, is the prospect closest to making the NHL full-time, and not just because he's French.

At one point, Lapierre was primarily considered a defensive winger, but with his 2022-2023 season, he has developed into an offensive threat.

By the end of February, Desnoyers had 19 goals and 36 points, leading the Phantoms in goals and assists.

His ability to play any forward position makes him a valuable asset to the team.

The Flyers are rebuilding their organization, so it's not surprising he might be vying for a job.

Who says he won't make the team out of training camp?
