Flyers Starting to Rebuild, and the trades are about to start

The Philadelphia Flyers have made it clear that they are embarking on a rebuilding phase.

Trading away defenseman Ivan Provorov was just the beginning to step 1 for Danny Briere, as they aim to acquire draft picks and promising prospects.

Recent rumors suggest that center Scott Laughton could be the next player on the move, with the Toronto Maple Leafs showing interest in acquiring him.

It has been proved that the Flyers have already declined late 1st round draft picks in exchange for Laughton, so it seems as if the Leafs may be forking up one of their top prospects.

Laughton's affordable contract of $3 million AAV for three more seasons makes him an appealing asset for Toronto. However, other teams like the Ottawa Senators and the Edmonton Oilers are also reportedly eyeing the talented center. Ottawa would be interesting, and it is no doubt that Claude Giroux, who is an Ottawa Senator, may be influencing general manager Pierre Dorion to move for Laughton.

The Maple leafs have been linked to Flyers F Scott Laughton.
