Prior to the deadline, the Flyers had to make a decision if they should extend
Nick Seeler or Walker and they chose Seeler. For this reason, Walker was dealt to the Avalanche but the Flyers received a first-round pick in return. Prior to the trade, Walker exceeded most expectations for the Flyers as he was just a thrown in for the
Ivan Provorov trade. While playing for the Flyers, Walker played in 63 games and scored six goals and 22 points. He also led the Flyers in on-ice rating with plus 9, so he had high value at the deadline. With the Avs, he played in 18 games with four goals and seven points. His role with this team did diminish compared to the Flyers, however the Avs have significantly more depth. This could help the Flyers obtain him in the offseason as his value has seemed to decrease.
