Flyers announce surprise cancelation

The team has climbed to third place in the Metropolitan Division, and John Tortorella is no stranger to success in this division.

As a result of the hectic schedule the team had last week, they played four times.

As well as playing twice in Philadelphia and New York, the team had long bus rides to the UBS Arena of the New York Islanders, reaching 12 hours of travel from Long Island to Philly.

Because of the strenuous travel taking place today, head coach John Tortorella announced that practice had been canceled. While not the official reason, it seems likely.

The team still has four more games and two more practices this week despite all of this.

The game against the Carolina Hurricanes takes place at 7:30 PM tomorrow, Eastern Standard Time.
