Matvei Michkov is a hired gun for HC Sochi

As HC Sochi beat HC Sibir 4-2 in a KHL game on Friday, the Philadelphia Flyers have a great sniper in Matvei Michkov.

It was a good game from Michkov, as he played 15 minutes and 6 seconds in 19 shifts, unfortunately, time was not found in St. Petersburg. Out of the 35 shots on goal in Sochi, he shot the puck 10 times.

Michkov's arrival continued to be a net benefit to the organization, as he contributed to Sochi's 5-4 victory over Severstal.

In that game, Michkov notched two assists, along with 18:04 minutes on ice. Prior to joining Sochi, Michkov only appeared in one of SKA's first four games.


Michkov has been regarded as the second-best prospect in the draft behind the Blackhawks' Connor Bedard. Danny Briere and the Philadelphia Flyers selected Michkov 7th overall.
