The Philadelphia Flyers season has ended, and part of the offseason is the NHL draft that will take place this June. Prior to the draft is the draft lottery on May 7th and the Flyers will learn what selection their first pick will be.

The Flyers first pick is currently at 12 but that could move up or down depending on the lottery. The Flyers cannot draft first overall, as of 2021, teams can only move up 10 spots in the draft, which means the highest the Flyers can pick is 2nd overall.

The Flyers have a 5.1 percent chance at drafting number 2 overall, 0.1 percent chance drafting 3rd or 4th overall. The Flyers have a 85.7 percent chance at drafting 12 overall, which is where they are currently at. Unfortunately, the Flyers can also move down in the draft, as they have a 8.9 percent chance at drafting at 13 and a 0.2 percent chance at drafting at 14 overall.

The last time, the Flyers picked within the top 3 was back in 2017 when they selected Nolan Partick 2nd overall. Obviously, this is prior to the new rule, now a team cannot move up 11 spots, as the Flyers moved from 13th overall to 2nd back in 2017. The Flyers have 10 selections in this year draft, including two 1st round picks. The draft will be held June 28- June 29 in Las Vegas.
