Despite drawing back into the lineup tonight, John Tortorella isn't sold on this younger defenseman.

In place of Marc Staal, Egor Zamula will be given another chance in NHL action after sitting out a few games recently.
Last night against the New Jersey Devils, Staal had a net-zero impact on the ice. If you look at the box score, he didn't even take a shift.

Marc Staal has fallen out of favor with Tortorella if he has been scratched tonight, so Zamula will need to prove himself to Tortorella.
As Tortorella sees it, Zamula needs to learn how to be more consistent, so he isn't 100% sold on him.
Flyers coach John Tortorella on what he wants to see from Egor Zamula in his return to the lineup:

Also, he wants Zamula to be a determined player on the ice, which sounds like a resonating message he wants the team to hear, as he once again turns around a faltering franchise like he did with the Columbus Blue Jackets prior to his exit.
It won't happen overnight, but he wants to see evidence that it is happening, and he has emphasized that with pace comes determination.
