Wednesday morning brought concerning news for Philadelphia Flyers fans as 2023 top pick Matvei Michkov was announced to be a healthy scratch for today's game with Sochi in the KHL. This comes just two days after Michkov was benched in the third period during Sochi's loss on Monday. Should Flyers fans be concerned with the latest developments?
Monday was one of Michkov's most disappointing showings as he was a -4 on the ice during the loss, which resulted in Michkov having to ride the bench for the third period.

Although it is somewhat concerning that Michkov is hitting a low, this does come after Michkov missed over a month with pneumonia as he had to take the proper precautions to recover and regain his respiratory strength.
Michkov has been elite all season, including since his return recording four points in five games with a goal and three assists. All season long Michkov has shown why he was highly regarded in the NHL draft, recording 33 points in 38 games, with 14 goals and 18 assists.
Although the Flyers top prospect has fell into a lull the last few games, Flyers fans shouldn't hit the panic button just yet.
