The Montreal Canadiens and Toronto Maple Leafs played a preseason game last night, Monday, October 3. Although both teams still need to make some roster changes, they each approached last night's game differently.

The "big four" of Matthews, Marners, Nylanders, and Morgan Rielly were on the Toronto Maple Leafs opening night lineup, which was nearly their full-time roster. The Leafs also lined up their two best goaltenders. The Canadiens, on the other hand, were quite the opposite. While the Canadiens' actual roster isn't particularly outstanding, this roster was more of an opportunity to get a last-minute peek at a few young promising prospects.
Zac-Aston Reese, a former Pittsburgh Penguin who was the key component in the Pens trade for Rickard Rakell, was one of the players that were slotted in for both clubs but are still waiting for a full-time roster space at the NHL level.
Reese plays the game quickly and aggressively, and unfortunately, if not controlled properly, that kind of style can lead to a dirty move.

The future of the Habs, and first-round selectio Juraj Slafkovsky, was struck from behind into the boards. Nobody defended Slafkovsky, the future of the Habs, and this demonstrates terrible leadership on the part of the Canadiens.
When he delivered the blow, "Z.A.R" seemed to leave his feet. Will there be a fine or any discipline handed out?
