Jon - Randall Avon known as J.R. Avon has become a name that the Flyers have been keeping tabs on as his stock levels have risen over the past year.

Avon a member of the Peterborough Petes, helped the team claim its first OHL title in 17 years and has a knack for scoring goals.
The 19-year-old was signed by the Flyers on September 22nd, 2021. Since he's been playing with the Petes all season, his current contract is not affected until he begins his NHL career. He currently holds an $800,000 cap hit which stretches till 2025-2026.

He currently stands at six feet tall 183 pounds and plays the position of centreman. During this year with the Petes, he played 59 games, scored 29 goals with 31 assists for 60 points and had 28 penalty minutes.
He currently is at plus 21 and in the playoffs, he has nine goals with six assists for 15 points and is a + 10.
As an undrafted player, those are pretty solid stats. I expect him to make it to the Lehigh Valley Phantoms next season. Since the Flyers lack depth at centre, it's welcome news to see that they have a player that could become a regular on the lineup within the next two years.
When the memorial cup begins, Peterborough will join the Kamloops Blazers, the Quebec Remparts and the Seattle Thunderbirds of the WHL to square off against one another.
