The future of Evgeni Malkin is pretty unsure for the moment.

The Pittsburgh Penguins will have a lot of trouble to extend every of their UFAs like Kristopher Letang, Bryan Rust, Rickard Rakell, Kasperi Kapanen and Evgeni Malkin.

Thus, GM Ron Hextall will have his hands full and it seems like he will have to make some very tough decisions. In the case that Malkin doesn't extend his journey in Pittsburgh, should the Flyers take a run at him?

In this great piece by Dan Esche, he listed the pros and cons of signing Evegni Malkin. Of course, despite his age, the Russian superstar can still produce at a very high pace. His venue could also fix an issue at center. But at the same time, he's injury-prone and the Flyers could be dubious to sign him knowing that he's injured often.

Also, he has been a Penguin' since the start of his career. Would he really be inclined to sign with the worst enemy of his former team?

Malkin could be a great addition to the Flyers. But is it plausible that he accepts to come if Chuck Fletcher try to get him? Not really.
