It was last reported that Tony DeAngelo and the Philadelphia Flyers coaches have gone without speaking regarding his status.

He had been scratched the last 3 games and when it comes to John Tortorella's hard-nosed nature, things don't seem to have changed.
DeAngelo's leash has been tightened considerably as his TOI has been diminishing recently and now the defenseman has been scratched for his 4th game!

This is bad news for a team full of Chuck Fletcher acquisitions, as DeAngelo didn't seem to pass Tortorella's eye test.
When asked about it, Tortorella wasn't about to entertain Philadelphia media on the matter.
Torts on DeAngelo: "I'm not gonna discuss it with you guys. He's out. And I've talked to him. He knows where he stands with me, and that's where we're going to go with it.

Will he play on Thursday?

"I'm not going to get into a conversation with you about that."

With a breakdown in communication between the two, does this spell the end? Again, with Tortorella's influence over Briere, it's only speculation, but it seems likely.
With a lot of prospects getting ice time and having cheaper AAV, like Cam York, Ronnie Attard, and Egor Zamula, they may get priority over the liability of DeAngelo.
