In the lighter side of Flyers news... Gritty gets down with it.

I have watched NHL hockey and pro sports for many decades of my life, I always enjoy the mascots that each team brings to the table. Whether it's Carleton the polar bear from Toronto Maple Leafs, to Youpie from the former Montreal Expos.

It takes someone special to put on a suit like that and try to entertain the public even when the team isn't doing well or the game is going poorly.

In the spirit of Saint Patrick's day, Flyers mascot Gritty decided to show off his dancing talents and try an Irish jig to the fan base.




As he looked over, he tried to get his bodyguard to join in on the jig which he was hesitant about, then a few seconds later, he decided to help and join in which lead gritty to walk off in disappointment.

To add to the dance, the Flyers won the game against the Buffalo Sabres 5-2.

The Flyers get back to work today when the Carolina Hurricanes blow into town, game time will start at 5:00 PM eastern.
