Joel Farabee received medical clearance from doctors yesterday, to resume full contact practices. Farabee could be ready for the Flyers home opener against New Jersey on the 13th.

Farabee underwent disc replacement surgery in late June; a similar procedure to that of Jack Eichel's, which created a controversy at the time and ultimately lead to Eichel parting ways with the Sabres. That wasn't the case with Joel however, as his procedure was successfully completed without the drama.
Joel Farabee is a key weapon in the Flyers lineup and a player who can ignite their offense. Farabee can attack with speed, win puck battles to create offense, be utilized as the trigger man on the power play, and distribute the puck as well. Farabee is a work horse on the ice and will certainly endear himself to Tortorella. Given his style of play, work ethic, and ability to produce, Farabee will see top lines minutes, with either Couturier or Hayes distributing him the puck.

Farabee had a career high 20 goals in 55 games two seasons ago and looked poised to break the thirty goal plateau in a full 82 game schedule. Unfortunately, the Flyers season was nothing short of a disaster last year and Farabee saw a slight dip in production. With key line mates out all season and Farabee obviously playing through pain, his numbers were reflective.

In a full, healthy season, Farabee is set to explode and be a key contributor offensively. Don't be surprised if «Goal Farabee» (as he is affectionately referred to as) surpasses to the 30 goal mark this season!
