With a win against the Bruins (and a loss from the Avalanche), the Florida Panthers would have won their first ever Presidents' Trophy. But unfortunately, the worst scenario happened.
Despite a strong start to the game, where the Panthers took an early lead in Boston (Giroux got an assist in the 4-2 loss), they couldn't get the win. At the same time, the Avalanche won against the Blues. They are now 2 points behind the Panthers.
Both teams have two games remaining in their schedule before the playoffs. The Panthers will play against the Senators and the Canadiens, as the Avalanche will battle against the Predators and the Wild.
