After riding a high with the strong play that the Flyers have exhibited over the past several games, it was expected that the team could hit the ground with a thud in a clunker of a game as the team continues to navigate its way through the rebuilding phase.

The game in question was against the Anaheim Ducks, another team amid a rebuild. The Flyers put forth a poor effort and lost the game 7-4. Flyers' goalie Samuel Ersson was in the net for the contest and bore the brunt of the Flyers' fate, with Bronx cheers raining down from the rafters, even after making a routine stop.
This did not go unnoticed by head coach John Tortorella, and when asked after the game about his thoughts on the game itself and the crowd's reaction, it's safe to say he was not pleased with either.

"What Sam had to go through out there with the Bronx cheers was bull shit. The game doesn't fall on one person."

Losses like these are to be expected, and despite the team's recent strong performance, they serve as a stark reminder that the team may not be as good as the standings suggest. Plenty of growth and development are still in order as the season progresses.
The Flyers' next game is scheduled for Monday, October 30th, against the Carolina Hurricanes. The game will begin at 7:00 PM Eastern time.
