NHL Players Wife is Furious After Her Husband Gets Waived From His Team (video)

Recently, the Sabres announced the termination of Riley Sheahan's contract. The veteran forward has spent the last three years with eight different teams.

His release should be nothing new to him, right? Well, this time is different. During his stint with the Sabres, he was sent down to the AHL prior to being called back up. Well, his wife had something to say about that:


It is speculated that Sheahan asked to be released, rather than be sent back to the AHL. I mean, it makes sense, because the guy has been traveling from city to city the last few years and making the move to Rochester just to play in the AHL for the second time doesn't seem like something he or his wife wants to do.


With this news, there are insiders around the league expecting Sheahan to call it quits. The reason for this is that he was already on the waiver and no one picked him up, besides the Sabres, who weren't hesitant to send him down to the minors.

Sheahan has amassed 194 points in 637 games, most of which came in Detroit at the beginning of his career.
