Steven Stamkos Says One NHL Teams' Airport Stole His Equipment

Last night Mitch Marner scored the game's opening goal to make Toronto Maple Leafs history and to extend his own record-setting point run to a impressive streak.

With a point or more in his last nineteen games , Mitch Marner has surpassed Eddie Olczyk and Darryl Sittler for the longest point streak by a Maple Leaf in history!

Although Marner set a new record for the Maple Leafs, it reminded Steven Stamkos of an event from the 2009–10 season that was very familiar to him.

''I remember it like it was yesterday," said Stamkos of his streak ending in 2009. "Because my sticks got stolen after the game at the Toronto airport by Toronto security and then I didn't get a point the next game, so I remember that pretty clear.''

Just one game short of Marner's nineteen, Stamkos concluded his point run at eighteen games, which left Stammers with a bitter aftertaste. Blaming it on the bad luck after his sticks were stolen.
