Well, the wait is over after much debate and weeks of speculation about where the Flyers will end up in the NHL draft lottery. Tonight, Bill Daly announced that the Flyers select 7th overall in the 2023 NHL Entry Draft.

This selection is vital for this organization as it continues to do its evaluation and begin the rebuilding phase to make this team competitive once again. The 2023 draft has been touted as one of the deepest drafts in over 20 years.

Interim general manager Daniel Briere expressed his thoughts about selecting 7th overall and what this might do for the franchise.

With the gates wide open, the Flyers require many different players to help start their rebuilding phase. 7th overall in this draft will grant them an excellent player who will help them in the immediate future.

Names such as Zach Benson, Nate Danielson, Eduard Sale and Andrew Cristall are out there that could end up on the Flyers' radar once their choice arrives at the draft table.

A trade could be in the works at the table that could move the Flyers higher though it's unlikely that will happen.

The NHL Entry Draft will be on June 28th and 29th.
