The Provorov trade

On Tuesday afternoon, the Philadelphia Flyers made big waves. Trading Ivan Provorov to the Columbus Blue Jackets in return for a hefty return.

Although the players involved were not even informed when the trade went down, as the Flyers defenseman learned he was being moved via social media.


The 3-way deal between the Columbus Blue Jackets, Philadelphia Flyers, and Los Angeles Kings, came pretty quick in rapid succession. Players didn't find out until the deal was already in the works, as insiders and journalists reported the deal being complete prior to it being official.


The deal saw the Flyers acquire Cal Peterson (LAK), Sean Walker (LAK), Helge Grans (LAK), 2023 1st Rd Pick (22nd overall), 2023 2nd Rd Pick (LAK) and are still expected to receive CBJ's 2023 2nd round pick.

Now Ivan Provorov will suddenly have to back his bags, as he is on his way out to Ohio.
