Jason Robertson has had 125 points in 128 NHL games and has burst into the limelight as a premier player. This past season he led his Dallas Stars team in goals with 41, and power play tallies with 13.

His entry-level contract of $894,167 has expired. He's holding out and the owner of the Stars is not hearing what Robertson's salary demands are.
The problem with giving Robertson that much is the Stars only have $6.3 million of cap space... unless they make some moves.

Well, training camp has started and Robertson is not playing. As time goes by, the likelihood of him getting signed decreases. So, here's three prospective teams who could certainly use his talents, and may have the room to swing a deal.
BUFFALO SABRES
The Sabres have actually jumped into the deep end of the pool and have contacted the Stars about Robertson. They have $20.5 million of cap space and could most assuredly afford to add him to their roster.
On top of that, they also have prospects to offer up as well as their 2023 first round pick, and three second round choices. Hmm.. the Stars need to think about that.
DETROIT RED WINGS
Don't think Steve Yzerman couldn't pull this off. He has some talents in that regard, and has already improved the Wings' chances of postseason play with roster additions he's made.
They have $8.1 million in cap space and that may be a bit short, but if anyone can determine how to make it work, Yzerman can.
Placing Robertson on the same line as Dylan Larkin would be dynamite. Two great young scorers who could take the Red Wings places they've not been for a while.
As far as the return goes, the Red Wings have some prospects who the Stars could use. AHL players like Cross Hanas (63 games, 26 goals, 60 assists), and Jonathan Berggren (70 games, 21 goals, 43 assists) standout.
ARIZONA COYOTES
Here is a team looking to grab a Connor Bedard by rebuilding (aka tanking). Not that Robertson is as talented as Bedard, but they're not far apart.
See, the Coyotes have a player they want to trade in Jakob Chychrun, and sending him to Dallas who is a contender would please Chychrun.
It may not please Robertson, but he has no say in where he goes. The Coyotes could start an offer with Chychrun and have plenty of draft picks (not that want to use them) to make a deal enticing.
Don't forget the Stars lost defenseman John Klingberg and Chychrun could fill that gap.
They could even throw in a young prospect like Dylan Guenther or Barrett Hayton to sweeten the pot.
If the Stars owner Tom Gaglardi wants to move Robertson, he has plenty of options. Let's see how this one rolls out.
