A somber mood envelops the world of hockey as we remember Adam Johnson, a former NHL player who tragically lost his life during a game in the UK's Elite Ice Hockey League (EIHL). Johnson, who had appeared in 13 NHL games for the Pittsburgh Penguins during the 2018–19 and 2019–20 seasons, suffered a catastrophic injury while playing for the Nottingham Panthers against the Sheffield Steelers.

This heart-wrenching incident unfolded in the game's second period, where Johnson sustained a severe neck injury from a skate blade.
