USA opens up huge with a big win against Switzerland last night in game two of the preliminary rounds. Two Things that were obvious in the win- the offensive and defensive game specifically. Let's talk about the two.

Explosion of Offense
Just like in game two, Team USA comes out firing but against Switzerland
this time around. Opening up the second period with a 5-goal period, two coming from Carter Mazur. Five different [players had scored to add to the 7-1 total. A complete offensive dominance.

Defense wins Championships
Not only has the offense been clicking but the defense has been above par as well. Team USA hasn't allowed much by in the first two games of the preliminary rounds. Getting big plays from the defense, especially the New Jersey Devils prospect Luke Hughes. He has played terrific in all three zones, and his puck skills opened up ice all over for whomever he was on with. This group, in my opinion, drives the bus so keep an eye on how they factor into this game. Especially against an aggressive Switzerland forecheck.

Team USA who is now 2-0 will do battle against Austria on August 13th at 2:00pm to end the preliminary round.
