A few days ago, it was announced that Flyers captain Sean Couturier has been nominated for the Bill Masterton award which is won by the player with the most dedication and perseverance in the league.

"I don't take anything for granted—not that I did before, but you try to enjoy every moment as much as you can through the ups and the downs," Couturier said on April 5 after learning that the Philadelphia chapter of the Professional Hockey Writers Association has selected him as its 2023-24 nominee for the Masterton Trophy.

Couturier spoke on how he battled back from a serious injury that kept him off the ice all of last season and since then, he tries to not take a single day in the NHL for granted, good or bad.

After missing an entire year, Couturier has had a solid season as he put up 36 points in 70 games and has been a leader for the Flyers in his first year as captain.
