The Philadelphia Flyers are currently still pondering on what they will do moving forward regarding their head coaching position. As candidates come off the market, it's looking like Scott Gordon is the most likely candidate to be the Flyers head coach next year. During the season there was a report that the Flyers were going to hire Joel Quenneville. That never came to happen, however it's confirmed by Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman that the Flyers were aggressively pursuing him and met face to face in March. Florida Panthers GM Dale Tallon spoke to Friedman and revealed that once he found out Philly was going hard at Quenneville, he decided to simply make him an offer he couldn't refuse. Tallon and the Panthers have promised Quenneville "a say in personnel decision and made a commitment to spend to the cap". That along with the possibility of making $7million a year with bonuses, it seems the Flyers just simply couldn't match that offer.
