Over the last several weeks, the Philadelphia Flyers have mightily struggled to win games. Per Alexander Appleyard, since the trade deadline, the Flyers have a record of 3-7-3 and with this pace for an entire season, the Flyers would be a bottom 3 team.
Since the trade deadline?
@NHLFlyers
are at 3-7-3... .346 pt%.
That is the 5th worst in the league over that time.
If they had played the whole season at that pace? The #Flyers would be picking top 3 in the draft.
That is how bad this stretch has been. #NHL

This pace that the Flyers are currently on since the trade deadline, is the pace that most thought the Flyers would be on for the entire season. However, we take a look at what has happened since the trade deadline, the Flyers struggling could make sense. The Flyers traded one of their top defensemen in Sean Walker to the Avalanche. Prior to the deadline, Rasmus Ristolainen, Jamie Drysdale and Nick Seeler all went on injured reserve. The Flyers had the top penalty kill in the NHL then the Flyers lose 4 defensemen and their penalty kill took a huge dip. However, one of the biggest issues for the Flyers is their save percentage. Since, mid-January, the Flyers have the worst save percentage in the NHL. The Flyers seem to outshoot their opponent every night but find ways to lose. The goaltending issues seem to be a combination of having no reliable back up and Sam Ersson being tired due to playing every night. Even with the Flyers recent struggles and if they do miss the playoffs, there seem to be a lot of positives to take into next year.
