The Philadelphia Flyers season has ended, and the playoffs have begun. Unfortunately, for the Flyers, they did not qualify for the playoffs but now, their offseason is nearing. The Flyers season significantly improved, including 13 wins against top 10 teams in the NHL. The Flyers, even with the improved play, stay committed to the rebuild, as we saw one their top defensemen in Sean Walker dealt at the deadline for a 1st round pick in the middle of the playoff chase.

Even, with the missed playoffs, we saw a lot of young talent improve. We saw players, like Cam York and Owen Tippett improve their play and have career years, then we saw rookies like Bobby Brink and Tyson Foerster show their potential and that they belong in the NHL.
Throughout last offseason, into this season, Flyers general manager Danny Briere preached patience as the Flyers need to rebuild. He has stated several times, that they will not veer away from the overall plan, which is not to make trades for rentals or sign aging free agents. Briere stayed true to that at this last trade deadline, and at the end of the season press conference he reiterated that they would not sign top free agents. The positives for Danny Briere and head coach John Tortorella is that they have a plan, to help the Flyers contend for the Stanley Cup year after year, where past general managers did not. It will be interesting offseason, as we will see who the Flyers want to keep for the future that they have been preaching about.
